
Each year, IHOBF locations nationwide honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through programs that highlight his commitment to social justice and equality for all people. Programs take place on or near the annual holiday and include the following:
Competitions: Oratory, poetry and spoken word competitions in which students create and perform works based on Dr. King’s ideas, writings and speeches
Projects: Special art projects in which students work with teachers to create and exhibit artworks inspired by Dr. King’s vision
Special Guests: Performances and readings by special guests

IHOBF's Learning Center offers educational resources designed to support teachers across multiple disciplines in integrating arts and cultural content into classroom curriculums. Students and others learning about the arts can also access resources. Click here to visit the Learning Center.
