IHOBF programs encourage youth to explore and develop their
creativity by expressing themselves in positive ways through the arts.
The IHOBF-Chicago Student Gallery presents artistic works
created by Chicago area youth in connection with IHOBF arts
educational programming.

Artwork created by Antonio Winters, a student participant in an IHOBF-Chicago Blues SchoolHouse program hands-on art activity.   Students from the Southside Occupational School collaborated to create the above artwork, which was inspired by a visit to the Blues SchoolHouse program.

Ms. Rebecca Miles Steiner, a student from Emerson Jr. High School in Oak Park, Illinois, won the IHOBF-Chicago Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Spirit of the Dream Celebration" essay contest one year with a moving essay about Dr. King’s dream of social justice and its connectionto contemporary society.
