honoring his support of the IHOBF.

Artist George Rodrigue and his wife Wendy helped raise thousands of dollars to support IHOBF arts and cultural programs for youth. House of Blues Foundation Room members and past supporters of the IHOBF, the couple donated one of George's paintings entitled Phases of Life to the IHOBF and assisted in the benefit sale of the painting. Part of Rodrique's famous Blue Dog series, Phases of Life raised $25,000 for the IHOBF. The Rodriques also assisted the IHOBF in another benefit effort involving the sale of a second Rodrique painting entitled Graveyard Moon Rise. This painting (also part of the Blue Dog series) was donated to the IHOBF by William Powers. With the support of the Rodrigues, the Graveyard Moon Rise benefit also raised $25,000. Through their efforts, the Rodrigues have provided major support for IHOBF programs and inspired youth participants to explore and express their creativity as they learn about the arts.

Louisiana born artist George Rodrique has been painting since his youth. After attending art school in Pasadena at the Art Center College of Design, he returned to Louisiana, where he painted the landscape and culture. His oak trees and bayou scenes led to his famous series, The Blue Dog, loosely based on a Cajun legend he heard as a boy.
